ALBERTA THEATRE LICENSE FEES Imposed Under The Amusements Act 2. In the case of theatre or place of amusement used for the exhibition of moving pictures, an annual licence fee shall be payable in advance as follows:
(a) In every incorporated city having a population exceeding ten thousand: (1) Where the seating capacity exceeds fifteen hundred............ $400 (2) Where the seating capacity exceeds one thousand but does not exceed fifteen hundred .............. 300 (3) Where the seating capacity exceeds six hundred and fifty but does not exceed one thousand ......... 200 (4) Where the seating capacity does not exceed six hundred and fifty . 100 (b) In an incorporated city having a population of ten thousand or less and in any incorporated town or village irrespective of population:

Exchange licenses are issued by the Amusements Branch of the Department of Culture, Youth and Recreation in Edmonton and the annual fees are $250 for 35mm and 16mm, and $100 for 16mm only.

SASKATCHEWAN AMUSEMENT TAXES Amusement tax is on a local option basis, with municipalities applying their own.
SASKATCHEWAN THEATRE LICENCE FEES Imposed Under The Theatres and Cinematographs Act
In cities the annual fee payable for every theatre licence shall be:
(a) $50.00 when the population of the city is 10,000 or over;
(b) $20.00 when the population of the city is less than 10,000.
In towns, villages or hamlets the annual fee payable for every theatre licence shall be $10.00.
In villages and rural municipalities, the director may issue to the applicant for a theatre licence, a licence covering a period of 3 months for each of any of the periods ending March 31, June 30, September 30 or December 31 in each year, and the fee payable for each of such quarterly licences shall be onequarter of the fee payable for an annual licence. In cities and towns, the director may issue, to the applicant for a theatre licence, a licence covering a period of 6 months for each of the periods ending June 30 and December 31 in each year, and the fee payable for each of such periods shall be onehalf of the fee payable for an annual licence. Where an annual licence is issued after the first day of January in any year and for a period not less than three months, the applicant therefore shall be charged such proportion only of the licence fee as the number of days remaining between the date of his licence and the 31st day of December bears to the licence fee for the whole year.
No rebate shall be allowed if the applicant for a licence has permitted public performances or other entertainments to be held in the theatre for. which the licence is required, prior to the date of his provincial licence. In the case of a building only occasionally used as a theatre or in the case of a special occasions licence, the licence fee of $2.00 per day or $10.00 per
week, DRIVE-IN THEATRES
For each drive-in theatre situated:
(a) within a radius of 10 miles of any city having a population of 10,000 or over, the licence fee payable shall be $10.00 per month or a maximum of $50.00 per season;
(b) within a radius of 10 miles of any city having a population of less than 10,000, the licence fee payable shall be $4.00 per month or a maximum of $20.00 per season;
