President: Eda Lishman

The Association was incorporated as a nonprofit body in the fall of 1973. At that time it was a small group of Alberta film production houses which were the Active members, plus various Associate members. In its seventh year, the Association has grown to 27 member companies; 17 corporate affiliates (suppliers, educational institutions, crown corporations, etc.) 31 associates (individuals who make their living in the motion picture business); and 98 affiliates (individuals who may not be engaged full time in motion pictures but who have a special interest in the industry or, individuals who are employees of active member companies and wish to be personally affiliated with the Association). The total of 173 memberships involves more than 500 people in the Association’s activities. A quarterly bulletin, in English, goes to members and associates. Seminars and workshops (e.g. the Banff Seminar) are held several times a year; and the Association sponsors an annual film festival.
