The only competitive festival in America recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers’ Associations.
The aim of the Festival is to encourage understanding between nations, to foster the art of cinematography, to promote meetings in North America between cinema professionals from the world over, and to stimulate the motion picture industry.

5. Recent Television Masterpieces
6. Homages: “Yesterday, Today and Tomorro’s Cinema”
The Jury will award prizes for: (a) Feature films:
The Grand Prix of the Americas/Best Actress/Best Actor/two Jury Prizes (determined by the Jury).
(b) Short films:
The Montreal Grand Prix for best short
film/Jury Prize for second best short film.
The International Press Award for the best Canadian feature film not in competition will also be presented.
The Festival will also organize the 4th International Film Market. Its aim is to promote international meetings and exchanges.
