Tent 47 provides funds to help handicapped and under-privileged children throughout the province. It has attained its objective of $5,000,000 towards the building of a thirty million dollar Children’s Hospital and Diagnostic Treatment Centre in Vancouver. An additional allotment of $2 million towards the purchase of medical equipment has been made. New goals include the establishment of an electro-limb bank and a research centre for children’s diseases.

The International Convention is held in September each year. The 26th was in Jacksonville, Florida; the 27th in Hollywood, California (1980); the 28th in New Orleans (1981); the 29th at the Westin Hotel, Toronto (1982). The 30th is planned for Atlanta, Georgia, in 1983.
