ALBERTA MOTION PICTURE INDUSTRIES ASSOCIATION
345 Birks Building
Edmonton, Alta. T5J 1A1
(403) 423-0709
President: Nick Bakyta
Executive Secretary: Lyn Miller
The Association was incorporated as a nonprofit body in the fall of 1973. At that time it was a small group of Alberta film production houses which were the Active members, plus various Associate members. In its tenth year, the Association has grown to include active members, corporate affiliates (suppliers, educational institutes, crown corporations, etc.) and associates (individuals who may not be engaged full time in motion pictures but who have a special interest in the industry, or individuals who are employees of active member companies and wish to be personally affiliated with the Association). The total membership involves more than 500 people in the Association’s activities. A quarterly magazine, in English, goes to members, associates, and the general public. Seminars and workshops are held several times a year; and the Association sponsors an annual film festival.
