The 1982 festival presented 124 short and feature-length films and 47 video productions. Fifty quest filmmakers also presented their films. A selection of films went on to Quebec City for the first edition of the festival there. The festival also provides a forum for exchange and discussion with the public. In 1983 the festival takes place November 4-13 in Montreal, and November 14-20 in Quebec City.
