It maintains an archive of some 250 British Columbia independent film productions; a film study collection of world classics and West Coast filmmakers for circulation to universities and educational institutions; and a reference library of over 1,500 books and magazines on film for use by members and researchers. The PCP runs a regular 5-day exhibition program at the National Film Board Theatre of series of world cinema, directors’ retrospectives, independent productions, non-narrative films and special events of talks by filmmakers, forums and mini-festivals, as well as an extension program of packages of films to minor communities in the province.
