s HE FALSE GODDESS,’’ the l fourteenth episode of the new Pathe serial, ‘‘The Yellow Arm,’’ produced by George B. Seitz, has been scheduled by Pathe for release the week of September 18th. Juanita Hansen is starred in the chapterplay with Warner Oland and Marguerite Courtot figuring prominently in the large cast of players. The episode is replete with thrills, the action centering on the revolution in the streets of Pai-Shui, in China, where the Priest overcomes the Politician, his rival for power.
The current chapter starts with Juanita Hansen, as Suzanne Valette, a prisoner of the Priest, who schemes to regain the faith of the people. He promises her that if she will appear in the temple as a reincarnated goddess, he will allow her and the Bain

family to leave the country in peace. Suzanne promises, and rides through the streets of Pai-Shui on a white horse to the temple. The people are filled with awe until she halts a moment in the procession to whisper a word to Jerry Engleson, her sweetheart.
An unfriendly demonstration begins, throwing the procession into a turmoil, the revolution becomes a reality. The Priest immediately realizes that his plans have failed, his ‘Goddess’? not being a_ success. Casting discretion to the four winds, he determines to bring Joel and Doris Bain to their death. To accomplish this, he tells Suzanne to eall on the gods—to raise high her right arm. to the Priest’s followers to execute Doris and Joel, should his plans misearry. Thru Specialty in Canada.

amount Eastern studios, has arrived in Los Angeles and is now co-operating with Max Parker, art director at the Lasky studio, in the designing and planning of numerous sets for productions under way there.

‘Pinky Moore’ in ‘‘Nobody’s Kid,’’ in which Mae Marsh makes her first appearance under the banner of R-C Pictures Corporation. Maxine, who is only fifteen, was born in Denver and made her stage debut at the age of eight, curiously enough with Maxine Elliott herself. Therefore she became Miss Elliott’s namesake. She made her first screen appearance with Mary Pickford in “The Poor Little Rich Girl.’’ Sinee then she has had prominent roles with Dorothy Phillips in ‘‘The Right to Happiness,’’ Vivian Martin in “The Innocent Adventuress,’’ with Ethel Barrymore in ‘‘The Eternal Mother’’ and with Madge Evans in ‘“Neighbors.’’
