is reported to be doing exceptionally well here. Wolfit, who arrived at St. John, N.B., on the Empress of Britain, played two days there before proceeding to Montreal . . . H. G. Well’s “The Man Who Works Miracles” has been the only picture to be held over recently at the Imperial ... Empire-Universal Films Ltd. have received a series of 17 pictures direct from France. It is expected that these pictures will be exhibited at the Orpheum Theatre in the near future... Len Ramsdell, Donald Wolfit’s adyance agent was in town for a few days to prepare the Wolfit engagement here . . . The opera “Rigoletto” will be presented by the Opera Guild under the direction of Emil Cooper, January 7th and 8th at His Majesty’s Theatre
. “Scarface”, Monogram’s box office hit, is now in its third week at the Strand The Princess Theatre, owing to the great controversy following the Louis-Walcott title match, heid over an 18 minute commentary of the fight ... There was no vaudeville this past New Year's Eve in the theatres operated by Consolidated ‘Theatres Ltd.

Montreal was in the midst of a continual party between Christmas and the new year, as invitations to countless parties poured in to all exchanges. First Christmas party given by Consolidated The
~atres for all their employees, was thrown at His Majesty's Theatre. Starting at midnight on December 20th, the party which lasted until the wee hours of the morning, was attended by over 300 people. The executives of the company devoted a great deal of time to the project to ensure a gala time for everyone.

It has been annopinced that Glenn Ireton formerly head of the public reations department at Warner Bros., ‘Toronto, has been appointed to an ¢xecutive position with the Renaissance Film Company of Montreal. he Company has built a studio on Cote Des Neiges Road and an apartment in this building is being constructed for Glenn’s residence.
In addition to the studio on Cote Des Neiges Road, details are now being carefully studied in connection with the building of a second studio of 300,000 square feet on Notre Dame Street West. The Renaissance Film Company has as its president Mr. J. A. DeSeve, a realistic business man with proven abilities in the theatrical field in both France and Canada.
