Page 10 CANADIAN MOVING PICTURE DIGEST Maritime News By A. L. FAIRWEATHER HE, recent fires in two theatres in this territory have concentrated attention on Fire Regulations and tightened up precautions. Theatres have reverted to the practice of showing a trailer drawing attention to emergency exits and the necessity of keeping calm in any danger. One of the larger theatres has in its possession a letter from a City fire official commending the management on the clean and _ safe “housekeeping” which was found on a recent inspection. Another result of the Moncton Kent Theatre fire, in which a large audience of children was present, was seen in a resolution passed by the Council of Social Service of the Anglican Diocese Synod held in Saint John. A committee was appointed to draw the attention of the proper authorities to the two sections of the Theatres Act. The first states that children under twelve years, unaccompanied by responsible people, shall not attend moving pictures where an admission price is charged nor shall small children apparently under sixteen years be permitted to attend during school hours. The second section refers to children under sixteen not attending an evening performance unless accompanied by and under the supervision of a responsible adult. eh oh hag Joe Le Blanc has been re-elected Mayor of Shediac by acclamation.
