Warner Baxter originated the role and Caesar Romero stepped in after him. 20th-Fox to Prepare Factual Series Louis de Rochemont, Twentieth Century-Fox producer, originator of the March of Time series, will produce a series of features with a factual approach to the war and kindred subjects. Subjects will be filmed along documentary lines or as re-enacted news features. The story of a battleship from its launching to a baptism of fire in the South Pacific, “Fighting Lady,” is planned as the first of the new series. Republic titled. CHIEF MOVING SHADOWS J. J. V‘graph's Pal Rennie | Shows How It's Done Canadian Press despatch recently carried an item to the effect that Palmer Rennie, formerly a reviser for the Toronto branch of Vitagraph, Limited, was one of six survivors in a unit of the 48th Highlanders who had been ordered to wipe out a series of pill-boxes on the Hitler line in Italy. Of this schedule, 15 films are now ready, which start Universal off on the season with more completed films than at any time in the company’s history. Two of the completed pictures and five yet to come are in Technicolor. Deanna Durbin will star in her first outdoor Technicolor musical, “Can't Help Singing,” produced by Felix Jackson with an original Jerome Kern score.
