P. G. Demetre, prominent Montreal business man and theatre owner, died suddenly of a heart attack while attending the horse races at Fort Erie, Ontario, recently. He was 71 years of age.

Gauld to Toronto, Dann Moves Up
Don Gauld, head of Odeon’s Montreal office, which also handles St. Johns and St. Jerome, has been moved to head office and will supervise certain Ontario territory, it has been announced by Clare Appel, eastern district manager of the company. ;
Gordon Dann, formerly manager of the York Theatre, Montreal, a United Amusement unit, has been named successor to Gauld in Montreal.
Odeon Theatres has plans for one large downtown house and several neighborhood theatres.
Republic Skeds 64; Has Br.-Lion Deal
Republic will take a financial interest in future p:ctures made by British-Lion, it was announced by Samuel W. Smith, head of the latter company, in New York at a press

Harry Kaufman Now With Foto-Nite
Harry Kaufman, formerly general manager of Monogram, who has left that post following the creation of a new distribution structure embracing Eagle-Lion in Canada, remains with the Hanson interests and will assume charge of Foto-Nite. He will have temporary offices at 431 Yonge street, Toronto.
Foto-Nite, at present in use in many Canadian theatres, will be expanded to American territory in the future. .
