~ February 12, 1947 Jolley Guest Of Trenton Kinsmen Arch. H. Jolley, executivesecretary of the Motion Picture Theatres Association of Ontario, was recently the guest speaker at a meeting of the Kinsmen Club of Trenton at the New St. James Hotel in that city. Arrangements for the gathering were made by Preston Salter, manager of the Century, and also there as guests were Gib. Martin, manager of the Trent, and his assistant Lloyd Mitts. Jolley also filled the same role of guest speaker for a recent meeting of Philos Club of Hamilton at their regular weekly “meeting at Fischer’s Hotel in that city. In "Mating Call’ Stars of Columbia’s “The Mating Call” are Lucille Ball and Franchot Tone. Peerless Release Ready for release is ‘Second Chorus,” according to Jack Roher of Peerless Films, Limited. Heading the cast are such top stars as Paulette Goddard, Fred Astaire, Burgess Meredith and Artie Shaw and His Band. Branch Of MPTAO Set Up In Kingston A branch of the Motion Picture Theatres Association of Ontario has been set up in Kingston and will include theatres in Gananoque and Napanee. Vince O’Leary, manager of the Grand Theatre, and Claude Hunter, manager of the Odeon, both Kingston houses, were elected president and secretary, respectively. Plans are to hold monthly meetings.
