Skouras, president of 20th-Fox, which will distribute the film, and Darryl F. Zanuck, head of the company which will produce the feature. Previously one film, The King and I, had been photographed in CinemaScope 55 but it had been exhibited on 35 mm. DeLuxe Tour will be exclusively for roadshow booking and will play in some 40 to 50 special theatres in the USA and a like number in the rest of the world. Foxwell's 'Manuela’' For Para Release Manuela, which received much favorable acclaim at the recent Berlin Film Festival, will be distributed by Paramount Pictures Corporation in the Western Hemisphere, France and Germany. It stars Trevor Howard, Elsa Martinelli and Pedro Armendariz. The picture, a story of a beautiful girl who stows away on a tramp steamer, is based on the best-selling British novel of the same name by William Woods. Manuela was produced in England and Spain by Ivan Foxwell, and directed by Guy Hamilton. Gina Lollobrigida In "Solomon And Sheba’ Gina Lollobrigida will portray the Biblical siren, the Queen of Sheba, in Solomon and Sheba, multi-million dollar Technicolor epic which her company will produce in association with Edward Small and Arthur Hornblow for United Artists release. King Vidor, one of the all-time great directors, whose most recent effort, War and Peace, won him an Academy nomination, has been signed to direct the film. The screenplay for Solomon and Sheba, one of the classic love legends of all time, was written by Julius Epstein and Crane Wilbur. Columbia Buys 'Wayside’ Columbia has acquired John D. Stradley’s three-act play, Wayside. Joanne Woodward In "The Young Lions’ Joanne Woodward has _ been signed to star opposite Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift, Dean Martin and Barbara Rush in 20th Century-Fox’ The Young Lions, which goes before the CinemaScope cameras in Germany shortly. The picturization of the classic Irwin Shaw novel is being produced by Al Lichtman and directed by Edward Dmytryk. Also cast in the production are Swedish actress May Britt and Arthur Franz. July 17, 1957 Warners To Release ‘Johnny Trouble’ Warner Bros. will release Clarion Productions’ Johnny Trouble, starring Ethel Barrymore, Stuart Whitman and Carolyn Jones, which was produced and directed by John H. Auer. Based on Ben Ames Williams’ warmly human story of an elderly lady who finds her life-long dwelling pre-empted by a group of college boys, it is from a screenplay by Charles O’Neal and David Lord. Andy Griffith In ‘Onionhead' Andy Griffith, has been signed by Warner Bros. to star in Onionhead. WB's ‘Letter From Peking’ John Lee Mahin has been signed by Warners to write the screenplay of Pearl Buck’s new novel, Letter from Peking.
