The objectives of the CRTPB, which has 22 sponsors, are to formulate sound engineering principles and to organize technical facts which will assist in the development of the Canadian radio industry and radio services of the nation in accordance with the public interest. The activities of the Board are restricted to engineering considerations and all sponsors must be non-profit associations, bodies or societies which have an importont interest in radio and allied fields.
One of the objectives of the Board is to advise government, industry and the people of its findings and recommendations. In actual practice the Board has acted in an advisory capacity to the Canadian Government in the matter of frequency allocations.
The organization of the Planning Board includes the Main Board made up of the contributing sponsor delegates and the chairmen of the Planning Board's eight technical committees: Broadcast Committee; Land Fixed & Mobile Committee; Maritime Committee; Radio Relay Committee; Railway, Highwoy & Transit Utilities Committee; Television Committee; and General Utilities and Public Services Committee.

president, stated in his annual report for 1963-64.
Total CBC income for the 1963-64 fiscal year was $111,378,000 compared with $104,057,000 the previous year. Cost of programs went up to $74,387, 746 from $69,912,265. The Parliamentary grant was up to $78,439,000 from $73,994,000 and will be $85,900,000, or more than $4 per capita, for 196465. Separate from the operating grant is a $14,250,000 capital grant. The amount refunded for 19634 as unspent by the CBC was $62,000.
