Power Biggs has been acclaimed on both sides of the Atlantic as one of the greatest organists in the world. He was born in England and edu¬ cated at the Royal Academy of Music in London. After graduating as an honor student, he embarked upon a brilliant career by performing at Queen's Hall before the Duke of Connaught, Sir Henry Wood and other notables of the musical world. He has also given several recitals in the historic cathedrals and churches of England. Mr. Biggs first came to this country on tour ; he later returned and be¬ came an American citizen. His concerts here met with unprecedented success, and he was engaged to appear with such celebrated organizations as the Orchestras of Boston, Chicago and Cincinnati, and at the Coolidge Festival concerts in Washington. Among Mr. Biggs' most interesting accomplishments is the historic series of recitals he gave on the baroque organ of the Germanic Museum of Harvard University. At this time, he presented the entire organ literature of Johann Sebastian Bach, a feat that was later repeated at Columbia University. Mr. Biggs' superb virtuosity and devotion to the best in art has rightly won him international acclaim as an artist at home in all styles — classic, romantic and modern.
