St St RCA VICTOR RED SEAL RECORDS STOKOWSKI, LEOPOLD, Conductor (Continued) has consistently done this with every group that has played under his direction. Of Polish origin (1887), Stokowski was educated at the Royal College in England, and afterwards in Paris and Munich. He has studied all the instru¬ ments of the orchestra, a fact that explains his sensitivity to color of sound. The success of his brilliant orchestral transcriptions of Bach organ music dates back to his early youth when, as church organist, he was to learn every one of Bach's contributions to the organ repertory. Stokowski is vitally interested in the possibilities of sound reproduction. His film "Fantasia" and his many recordings Jiave proved the scientific as well as the musical side of his personality.
