A year or so later he joined the Cincinnati Orchestra under Van Der Stucken; in 1904 he became ’cellist in the Philadelphia Orchestra, with concert appearances as soloist. Preferring conducting to con ROSARIO BOURDON cert-playing, he returned to Europe for further study, and, on coming back to America, played a while with the St. Paul Orchestra, of which he was Assistant Conductor. He joined the Victor staff in 1911 as Conductor and Arranger. He has made many notable contributions to the literature and the technique of recorded music.
