ZENATELLO, GIOVANNI, Tenor
Giovanni Zenatello was born in Verona. Though known to fame as having one of the finest tenor voices in the world, one of his first appearances was, strange to say, asa baritone. The baritone cast for a certain part in an opera in which Zenatello was to sing, became suddenly ill. Nothing daunted, Zenatello assumed the réle, and earned the plaudits of the audience as a baritone!
His voice is of ingratiating quality and large volume. His fame has been achieved in Italy, in London (as principal tenor at Covent Garden), in South America, where he is a great favorite, and in the United States. His repertoire is extraordinarily large, his greatest out of many great successes, the réle of “Otello.”

This distinguished Russian violinist was born at Rostoff on the Don, Russia, April 9, 1889, and disclosed a musical temperament at an early age. Later he went to Leopold Auer in Petrograd, and made rapid progress. His début was a phenomenal success, which was repeated in the principal European music centres. A splendid London début definitely established his fame in England, and an equally warm welcome awaited him in the United States. His marriage to Alma Gluck led to the making of beautiful duet
records by these famous Victor artists.
