Description Of The Film and Tape Categories
1. Television Specials
Single, self-standing productions of a non-documentary (dramatic, variety, entertainment) nature for use on television.
(An individual production in a series such as CBC Superspecial qualifies under TV Special rather than TV Series.)
2. Documentary
Productions of a non-fiction nature either for use on television or for corporate, institutional or other non-television use.
(Productions qualifying in previous Awards as Travel & Recreation, Nature & Wildlife, or Sports now come under this category.)
3. Television Series One episode from a series for use on television may be entered in this category, whether the series is documentary or non-documentary in nature.
4. Sales Promotion Sales aid for a product or service.
5. Public Relations Productions made to aid in changing public knowledge of institutions or corporations or to insure the dissemination of information to the public.
6. Educational and Instructional Productions made for the prime purpose of teaching the audience certain specific information, rather than just making them aware of that information.
7. Animation Artwork drawings, puppets, plasticine, or electronic images, shot single frame, to create the illusion of movement.
8. Audio-Video: Portable
Any production which can be sent to a central point for judging. Entry may be one or two slide trays with pulsed tape or cassette, a 16mm film print, a 3/4” videocassette, or a 16mm or 35mm strip film with accompanying track.
9. Audio-Video: Non Portable A fixed installation which must be judged in situ by a travelling judge.
EACH ENTRY MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A CLIP FOR SCREENING PURPOSES.
