CONSERVATION FACILITIES The NFTSA has a conservation laboratory for examining, testing, restoring and printing films. A great deal of copying work, and all the chemical processing, is contracted out to private laboratories. All films sent out for copying are prepared by NFTSA personnel, and rigorous inspection procedures ensure that the work done meets the standards of the Archives. The high quality equipment in the NFTSA recording studio enables the Archives to produce the most faithful possible copies from all types of sound recordings in its custody. Measures are taken to prevent the deterioration of the original sound recordings, as well as to ensure the maintenance of the high quality of the preservation copies. The television facilities are extensive, and include broadcast standard equipment as well as various cassette formats for making viewing copies of film and television de conservation. Les enregistrements sonores sont réalisés dans un studio des A.N.F.T.E.S. avec de l'équipement de premiére qualité qui assure la plus grande fidélité possible & la reproduction des documents. Toutes les mesures sont prises pour empécher la détérioration des enregistrements originaux et pour garantirla qualité des copies
