May-June, 1939 THE CISE-TECHKICIAN resume of its activities. DOCUMENTARY MOVEMENT Mr. Gray (G.P.O. Film Unit) drew attention to the considerable delay in negotiating an Agreement with the G.P.O. Film Unit. The Secretary, on behalf of the General Council, outlined the steps which had been taken by the Association to expedite matters and said that the General Council would use every effort to get considerable progress made. He deprecated the attitude of the Post Office as much as the mover of the motion, particularly the fact that the salaries paid to employees arc on the whole much below those paid in other documentary groups, several of whom work under agreed A.C.T. salaries and conditions. POLITICAL CENSHOPSHIP OF NEWSREELS Mr. C. Tom i ley (Progressive Film Institute) moved a motion, seconded by Mr. H. P. J. Marshall drawing attention to the tendency towards one-sided political partisanship in certain newsreels. The resolution, which was carried unanimously, urged the A.C.T. to support any efforts that may be made towards combatting political censorship of newsreels. ELECTION OF OFFICERS President The Hun.
