The Donnelly A Hatfield Magnificent Minstrels Is tho title of a new venture In the minstrel field, the Arm being eomnosed of Tommy Donnelly, negro comedian, and Joe E. Hatfield, advertising agent. Both have been members of tho Al. G. Field Minstrel Co. Mr. Donnelly baa been with the company seventeen years continuously, as comedian, end man, etc.. and Mr. Ilatfleld has been In advance of the comnany for more than twenty years. Their new show will hea complete ooe in every particular. They hare arranged with Al. G. Field to stage their performance nnd direct their tour for two seasons, nnd with the capital they command, together with Sir. Field's judgment In handling attractions of this character, the Donnelly & ■Hutlleld Magnificent Minstrels will begin its career under favorable circumstances, Mr. Donnelly has managed a small show for the past tour Summer seasons with considerable success. He will lie surrounded by a corps of competent asslstanta in every department. The advertising material will be of great variety, and lithographic work will be used exclusively. Three agents will precede the show. The big Urst part spectacle, "The Evolution of Minstrelsy," will he a bewildering scene of beauty, It Is claimed, the color scheme being an original one. The scenic surroundings nnd costuming will be heightened by original electrical effects. The utter-piece, entitled "The Darktown Circus and Menagerie," was ono of the big successes of the Al. G. Field Minstrels last Benson. In addition to the numerous mechanical animals that were used in that production, Donnelly & Hatfield have added a scene wherein Is introduced the dancing, wrestling and boxing bears, the jumping kaugnroos, and several other mechanical novelties.
