Y., we played to the big- gest house of any minstrel show in years, and at Cazenovla, N. Y., it was S. U. 0. at 8 r. M, I-. C. Brlggs. operatic baritone, joined us last week, and Is a valuable addi- tion to our singing corps. Our flashy street pnrade and so'o band concerts arc the after- noon talk of the town, while our Inside per- formances receive favorable press notices. Dancing Downs writes: "After ploying over two venrs on the California circuits, I have decided to return East. I was for- merly known by the name of Tom Doyle, hut hereafter my title will be Dancing Downs. There are three different circuits here In the West, all of which are good for from eight to thirty weeks, with the right kind of acts. I open on the Crystal circuit Dec. 4. at Denver, Col. Hnve been on the W. A. Weston Empire circuit for the post twenty weeks, and have found everything fine. There are lots of Eastern acts out here, and all are making good." Hards Koler, of Koler and Seymour, an- nonnces that he has dissolved partnership with Ed. Seymour. The name of the new tenm will be Koler and Davis. L. Jerome Mara writes: "I played a return engagement at the Grand, Pittsburg, and, as usual, made more than good. I have been constantly adding to ray net, and have now some of the best and prettiest accessories used by any single magic act. The opera- tion was successful, and she is doing nicely. She has been ill for ten weeks. James B. Donovan, Itena Arnold and company met with excellent success at Hath- away's, New Bedford, week of Nov. 18, la Mr. Donovan's or'glnal act, entiled "20 Min- utes on Broadway." They are capably as- sisted by Jay L. Arnold, who plays the part of the orchestra leader. The Tasmanian Tnoure Just closed a fourteen weeks' season of fairs, under direc- tion of Frank Melville. The Loretta Twins, acrobats, and Har- vey, their brother, were booked nt Omaha, Minneapolis and Denver by Manager Leh- man, following their successful engagement at the Orpheum, Kansas City. The Sisters Chatham will be known hereafter as Chatham and Tenley, Florence Chatham assuming her own name of Ten lev. Downet and Willard played Moline, III., week of Nov. G, and during their engagement there thov were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Frb, of the team of Ert> and Stanley. On Saturday evening, Nov. 11. Covers were laid for thirty guests. Lb Maire and Ld Maire write that they opened at the Family Theatre, Lancaster, Pa., and Mr. Mozart stated that it was the best act of its kind that has played bis cir- cuit. They play a return date there In April, 190C, also open Jan. 15, for ten weeks, over the Interstate circuit, through Texas. •Our act," they add, "Is going as big In the East as it did In the West." Cramer and Casper write that they are In their eleventh week on the New England cir- cuit. They open on the Mozart Family The- atre circuit at Lancaster, Pa., with the Done, Yonkcrs, N. Y., and a return date at the How- ard, Boston, and other good work to follow. Clifford Val Trainor writes from the Grand Opera House, Grand Rapids, Mich.: "I am playing here with good results, In my new act, singing my own songs, and for the finish of the act 1 take the latest lesue of the local papers, and get comedy out of the headline articles. It Is a novel Idea, and, as it means new material at each show, entails consider- able agitation of the gray matter, but re- sults justify the trouble." Walter J. Gossenz, "The Alabama Wiz- ard," reports meeting with success, with La Hue Bros.' Ideal Minstrels, playing an end, and featured In a song and dance in the olio. The show, he writes, is giving the best of sat- isfaction, nud business Is fine. Hunt and Troy write that they received many answers to their "ad." in The Clipper, but bad joined the Jefferson Stock (South- ern) before their "ad." appeared. The company will play all the principal cities of the South. They were presented with a beautiful thoroughbred fox terrier, by 11. 0. Cunningham, advance agent of Dulaney's "V. T. C." Co.. which will be an addition to their highly trained troupe of dogs. Arthur; Howe, of the team of Howe ana Decker, will work alone this Winter, doing his novelty bolnucing act. This is on account of the illness of Mr. Decker. Alice Hanson and Mollis Williams re- port meeting with big success In their spe- cialty, with Al. Woods' "Tracked Around the world" Co. They are considering a good offer to go abroad next Summer. Notes from the Yankee Doodle Girls Co. —Business has been unusually good so far this season, and we have set a pace for others to follow. Uekskkh and D'Esta are oper- ating the Family Theatre, at l'ottsviiie; the Family Theatre, at Hazeltan, and tbe Family Theatre, at Cnrbondale, Pa., and expect to open two more theatres within a couple of weeks. Geoeoe Brobst, of the Brobst Trio. writes: "We opened at Jeffers Theatre, Sagi- naw, Mich., at n mntlnce, Sunday, Not. 12. The act was one of the bits of the bill. Tbe press of this city devoted a half column to the Juvenile member (Young Kates), compli- menting him very highly on his excellent tinging, dancing and comedy." Williams and Moore, having dissolved partnership, Sam Williams tins Joined hands with Gaff Le Roy, nnd tin- team Is now known as Williams and Le Roy. They are presenting their new black face comedy, talking, singing and dancing act at clubs and entertainments In and around New York, having some first class booking ahead.
