Dlnklna Yankee Doodle Olrls opened at Miner's Eighth Avenue, to a good bouse, Monday matinee, and a good, wholesome bur- lesque show was offered for the approval of the burlesque fans. Two laughable burlettaa and an all star olio was the offering, and with a handsome chorus, funny comedians and Al principals, the show was entertaining from start to finish. Harry Be/on, ns Mike O'Houllhan In the first part, and Dan Maloncy in the closing burlctte, were big laugh provokers, and kept tbe audience in good humor throughout. Eddie Boyd, as a Yankee sailor and as Jack Diamond, must be put down as a performer who knows how to please and make good. C. Baptlate, as a French count and a dope, was another one who deserves much credit for tbe way he put over his line of parts. Charlie Collins, la character' parts, was Immense. Sam Hawley, In Oerman and rube parts, was right np to the mark. Frank Stewart and Jan. tlazleton did well through- out. Mile. Veola Is a charmer who can sing, and sing well, knows how to wear her cos- tumes and, in fleshings, she showed real form. Lillian Keeley has a good voice, knows bow to use It, and. pleased. Janet Faust must be added as another fair one who can win her audiences and put over her numbers In good style. "An Irish Devil" was a good opener, showing a reception room at tbe Waldorf-Astoria. Tbe curtain rose upon a bevy of fair ones In red. white and blue flesh- ings. They sing "Yankee Doodle Olrls," a rood, lively opener. Minstrels and band, by the entire company. Mile. Veola, singing "Summer Time,'' In good voice, was a rattler, and tbe chorus, nicely costumed, worked well throughout. "Carlran," sung by Lillian Keeley, was a very pretty number, nicely aung, and a winner. "In Bamboo Land," by Janet Faust, was put over In regular voice, nicely costumed chorus working prettily. "Tbe Daltydllla Band" wss very funny and called for many laughs. Numerous encores were necessary to satisfy. Harry Beyon waa the leader. The grand unale, "The Roman Gladlntora' March?' by Mile. Veola, was a swell finale, with the girls dressed as ancient Roman gladiators in beautiful costumes. They drilled to martial music, making many pretty evolutions. Frank Stewart, tbe Instrumentalist, played nicely on brass, and was a big. bit Collins and Hawley, in songs, chatter and dancing, proved themselves entertainers who know Sow. Their dancing Is far above the aver- age. Baptlate and Franconl have a novelty acrobatic act, and some very difficult feats were performed with skill. Mile. Veola, In a singing specialty, was a real feature; her two songs, "Oceana Boll" and "Honey Man," •were nicely sung, and she must be marked dawn as a big bit, "On the Road," tbe closing burlctts, shows the realistic Interior ot a Pullman car. "Good-Bye, Honey Boy, Qood-Bye," was a fine ensemble number by entire company. Mlllan Keeley, singing "A Boy I Used to Know," wsb clever, with chorus up to.tbo mark. In "Emelina Lee," Mile. Veola slipped over the real noise, with, chorus assisting.' "Pierrot," by Lillian Keeley, was another liummer. "Grand Yankee Doodle Olrls," en- tire company on the Job, waS a floe finish. Harry Seyon worked bard -throughout tbe entire show, and his comedy was of the real funny order.. The show goes along with a dash. Mr. IHnklns has a collection of band' some choristers whom ho baa prettily cos* Jumod, and the show is an entertaining pro- [uctlon from start to finish. ■ ■ n s Hsjlr, Kofhway Said Fallc. Louis Mulr, Charlie Falk and Ralph Rock- way will Join hands at the close of tbe bur- lesque season, and introduce a novel tinging and piano act. Louis Mulr is writing several new songs, exclusively for the aot. and. com- bining Chas. In addition to killing tbo horses which were quartered In box stalls In the rear of the stable, the falling wall also smashed sev- eral wsgont.
