Opened to packed bouses dally, to S. It. 0. "Friday night the Kentucky Club of New Orlenns bought up half of the house; ocsldcs, wo had a dancing contest on the same nlgbt, all-comers ngalnst our picks. The mass of people lighting to get In looked like old times, before the novlcs were In tho Held. Everything was sold long before eight. On Tuesday every company lu town was Invited to see the old year out by the New Orleans Lodge of Elks, No. 30. I being an Klk of 21, Newark, N. J., after the show, with a number of our company, went. In front o r . their clubhouse there Is n small park, where they built n handstand. They had a forty piece band Hint played nil the latest music. At eleven o'clock, wh^n wo got there, the brothers stood around tho handstand with hats off. A young lady on the platform song 'Auld Lang Syne.' The brothers Joined In the chorus aud so did the people, about 5,000. After that we went In the clubhouse, bad plenty of refreshments and a tlnnce until 2 A. »f. GI.J.
