J^jrHe, is one of.the "' • n ^ , .*, I, ?J. < Uu }* Krelg, mgr.)—The Merry Whirl this week. Ben Welsh's Burlcaquera § The Sketch, by J. «. onrrie, a uuc ui iuo classiest offerings ever Been In vaudeville, and gives Mia* Barrymore excellent oppor- tunltles for nrtlatie acting. She was a.huge 6UCCM8 us Kate, a. typlat, and played the character as only she can. Chief among her rannort was Davtd Torrence, a most capable actor! whov/as cast as Sir Harry Slmes. The original "nut," Bert Fltiglbbons, sang songs and told crasy stories for fully twenty Ave minutes, sua then the audience were loath to let blm go. Bert has been Playing around New York so often, and has received so manI good notices that It Is useless to ■o Into much details. He was the same big lit here a* everywhere Those nifty colored comlques. Cooper and BoWnaon, have a good position and filled hi nicely. These «*° boys ere about the deverest ta *elr kind of entertainment that can possibly *e procured. The several song* tatrcSuwd were all big enco.o winners. Bthel Green, singing comedienne por excel- lence rendered * naif dozen songs with re- markable success, and left them asking for Sore. She also gave a new song, assisted by the composer, Harry Carroll, that bears all the earmarks of going over. That champion of all comedy sketches, "Fixing the Furnace," presented by George Holland and company, was a knackout. The sketch is one continuation of laughs, and contains enough eomedy to supply a regular three act comedy. The, Idea Is new and the act went with a bang from start to finish. The work of all principals was good. Kenny. (Nobody) MJUPlatt, In their laugh- sjbC offering, called "Nobody Paid You," is -cod for a long time. Both boys are excel- lent slDgerj, and get over several songs with good results. Kenny's singing of ,7 When I Lost You" was a feature. . -__. Ten Eyck aand Waey, In statue work, finish- ing with a novelty dance, was heartily en- joyed. Both man and woman are capable dancers, executing a, dance with the assistance of a llarge hoop, to several encores. Lambertl a master of several Instruments, showed what an Artist lie is. He played tbe piano violin or! Vedto, and gave Impersona- tions'of sever..l leading musicians In a ca- pable manner. , . „ . Kit Karson, with Tope-sptonlng, rifle shoot- ing and a capital performance on the slack Tvtre Is a credit to the vaudeville stage. His whole performance is on a par with any- thing of Its kind He took many encores at tbe conclusion, of his meritorious act Edison's "Talkies," offering several new subjects, went over the same as ever.
