He Is interested In the Big. fcautelle Show, snd be reports the show doing s fine business, tnd they expect to stoy out until the end of November. Oscar Lowande made hit first appearance with the Wallace Show In 1807, where he met his wife, and married ber that season; he claims be wts the first rider to turn a back somersault from one horse to another. Jerry Mogtven, owner of the Howe's Oreat Iondon Snow, is on for a few day* tt the guest of Mr. Talbot Antonio Publllooes was also • visitor looking for acts for his circus. Is Havana, Cuba. Fred Thlleu, of Blacks ft Boat, of Birmingham, the big clotbtoar ttore there, wta on showing samples to the boys, and most at them tre wait- ing to get togged up next Sunday. Mr. Thllen has built up a torn trade with the different shows tnd the boys tU like him ts be to certainly one of those genial good fellows that you seldom meet Floyd King, oar popular press agent, had a half page story called "Tnfrty Weeks with a Circus," in the Sunday Montgomery piper, and it was some story. Harry Llnlgrr, who does tie desperado dive, sprained his ankle very badly the other day after doing the dive, the runway being down hill, which made him run into the reserved seats. Chat. Bornhaopt, the European agent from Brussels, Belgium, was on to the show in Ope- Ukt, looking us aU over, and remarked that this la the best dressed show that he has ever seen. Chas, Sparks wat t visitor tt Selmt, Ala., the Fparks Show being only forty miles away from us. He met nutuy friends here, and spent a very pleasant day. Fred Rgner has signed to pity clown with the Frank Spelluun indoor Circus this Winter Frank Fry, of the three balls tor a nickel ring the bell fame, had htt wife and daucbter on for a visit in OpeUka, and we til noticed that be kept them with him, so At. Hoffman and Mr and Mrs. Sheesler, of the Sbeesley Carnival Co.. made a fly- ing Tlalt to seo our show. We hare certainly had our share of visitors this week. Harry Mann, of the Sanger Show, wta also a visitor In Opelika. Well, folks, it to closing time, and ss I rerk-.v the season of 1013 It has been a very eventful cne, with many ops tnd downs, and credit must be given to each and every one connected with the show, aa everyone has dono Ms or ber pare to the best of their ability. In tb» Spring, when the flood came, snd everyone thought tost the Heeesseck ft Wallace Show was a Ihms; of the rutst, snd even Got. Wallace was discouraged. It was tteu hit friends idvlsed him to build his shew even larger than what he had Intended to lake oat this season, and show the show world the metal he wt& made of. The opening was set buck from the twelfth to the twenty-fourth of April, when the show opened la Peru, bid., bigger, grander rod brighter than ever, tnd we made our way to the East, where the show oil a good busi- ness. In Shamokln, Ft.. Friday, IS, the miners tried to make trouble for us, but although a little ernred at the dynamite bombs the natives were throwing, both on the tot and at the sleepers, one and all of our folks showed they were not cowards, aud we got out of town with little or no damage. From the East we went up Into Michigan, and this State was the banner one, as it was ca- pacity every day and most of the time turn- sways. In Indiana Dnslnera was not quite so good, the hot, dry weather having buried the crops, as It wts one awfully hot Bnminer. The first of September we went South, snd there the trouble began, as we got in the midst of the rainy season, and when It starts to rain to the South it never knows when to quit, snd we lost many days on account of It, and here It where we must give (he management CKdlt for being real showmen, is it la no little thing to lose day i.rter day, and with It all keep on smiling. But with the end of September so It wts the end of ibe rain, ml the remainder of tne season bat been very good, also the business, and now the folks are all looking forward to the closing dty, some to their homes and dear ones, others to go right to work in vaudeville, tnd quite t number to Europe; so we will all go our differ ent ways, some to meet again, and others maybe not, so when the bands plays "Home, Sweet Home," many in eye It dim with tetra as many wtrm attachments arc formed during our six months together, and the nartlng <s always rather t aid event Wt hive all had Jolly good tlmea together, and when death erne to claim one after the other of our number, ts wc hid five deaths this seanon, the saddest among them being the ncctdent to our little Statue Girl, Proline Tate, whose young life ended so suddenly, when she slipped between the coaches snd the train psssed orer ber, snd hun- dreds of people witnessed It bat were unable to save her. Bo as we think of til these things, it brings us eery rtetr to each other, rod ore forget the little qoarrels we hive had aad only remember the gnod that is in each and every one: and now folks, 1 hive tried to be fair to everyone to my weekly s, and as tats is my hut article this i I with to say that I have sever traveled with any better show or say nicer folks, and by thin I mean everyone connected with the show, from the front to the back, and if such a thing would be possible, I would like to see the same sld buucb to the Spring of 1914. Oar season opened April 24, st Peru. ltd., close at Okolona. Miss, Nor. 10, making twesty- nlae weeks. Eighteen Stale* were traversed. The route Included four two day stands, one five day stand and one one week stand. Nsw people, this Is my lsst dope for this season. Msy good luck be with all of my friends snd Ton Old Bexlabls ! THE BLOW-OFF DAT. When the circus season's over. And upon the blowoff day, Bvery one Is grttlng ready And anrlous to get away Upon the Blow-off Dty. Some have mothers, wives snd listen Awsltlne them at home. But some poor, unlucky derlli Hsve to rosra this world alone.
