A Patteo and his company of "Old Soldier Fiddlers" opened the intermission, and. of course, came in for the bulk of the applause, playing national airs. The unfold- ing of a huge American flag Was tbe Signal for a tremendous outburst of applause. B> A Bolfe's suc:-!saful musical skit, "The Bride Shop," featuring Andrew Tombea and Lola Wealworth captured one of the hits of the program. There Isn't the least doubt but what the patrons of this housi are getting- their All of the tango, mux-lie and half-and-half. Hardly a week passes but what two or tbree dancing turns are shown. The team suffered accordingly. Ed. Corelil and Charles Gillette, the odd pair, had little trouble In proving their abil- ity as entertainers. Their specialty proved interesting', and held the attention of tbe large audience. William Kgdlrettee, presenting "Tbe Act Beautiful," consisting of a wonderful posing Arabian horse and a pair of English setters, had everything his own way. His acting is on a par with his eketcb. He Is an artist. Assisting htm Is a most charming and pretty actress, Edith Lyle, whose personality 1* remarkable. Fred- erick Forrester Is also a clever performer, as well as the others of the east, George Thomp- son nnd Robert flrott- _. Hilly McDermott. who bills himself "The Only Survivor of Coxey's Army," was next in fine. His witty, tunny stories were weU received. His burlesque of grand opera was Indeed good. Marie Ltoyd, looking'better than ever, sang four songs, gave a diameter study of an English coster girl, and danced. Miss Lloyd was greatly handicapped on account of a heavy cold, which intcrferred with her *mf lng. She looked well, danced well, and wore pretty costumes. Ralph Lynn, a clever comedian, was fea- tured In B, A BoUe's "Tho Purple Lady." Mr. Lynn, In bis own peculiar way, was very tunny, and went big with tho house. Helen Juliette was a graceful mlas and a help to Lynn. Josoph Merrick and Adelle Darker had good parts and handled them well. The chorus was a regular 'ot of Broadway chorus girls, who are so Important to all musical productions. The act went big. Welch Mealy and Montrose were a suc- cess. Sig. Mealy, besides doing a lot of One tumbling, did a clevor acrobatic dance. Scream welch, as big and lolly as ever, took care of the comedy. Montrose Is a good tumbler. Jack Horton and Mile. La Trlska offered a first class act. Tbe lady la billed as "The Human Doll," and I want to say right here she Is some doll. Mile. La Trlska has great control of her muscles and ber eyes. Handera and Mllslss are tilled a* "Eng- COLONIAL well with their patter material. The "woo" Sart Is cleverly handled and "donna breaka a Jac-ket" Is a catch lino that helps tbe laughs along nicely. Wm. H. St. James kind of shared honors with Ward, Bell and Ward and, Snyder and Hallo for tho lead, as his clever self air! assisting company of three made "The Come- On" as brilliant an offering as ever It has been for him. "Singer and Violinist" Is tho billing used by two men. The -violinist holds up both ends of the title, the singer for the most part "feeding" up to his partner's Addling numbers. They mado tho second ''straight and wop" team on the bill although one does not resemble the oilier In respect to ma- terial, and therefore there was no clash. Ward, Bell and Ward have a fine act. Opening In one, with a danclpg specialty by tho girl that was barely appreciated here, they went to full stage for tho acrobatic work by the clown and straight men. The flrl has little to do in the full stage set, ot the wonderfully graceful bit of dancing she does to open tne act lets ber out as an everv bit a thirty-three and a third partner of the acr and for the rest of their stay soe'B good to look at, besides getting In on tho Quale blind folded dive across four chairs by the clown for a hand to hand catch by toe stralgnt at the other end of It Ward, Bell and Ward will do wm! on any MP. Many of tbe performers are well known, and extreme- ly popular here, and tho entire bill furnished an afternoon or rare enjoyment Marie and Mary McFarland, In a reper- toire of classical vocal selections, carried- off the honors of the bill la a musical -way, and It is sure that In Its refinement and su- •pcrb vocal excellence tho act la lncumparable, and stands alone. Tho sketch position of the bill was allotted to Frank Sheridan and compaay. presenting Iticbard Harding Davis' intensely gripping sketch, "Ulackmoll," which held tho close attention of the audience from the opening to the closing of its dramatic lines. Frank Fogarty, "The Dublin Minstrel," delighted all with his rapid Are stories and songs. In fact, so fast did he send tbcm over that they cnused lost one long laugh, until one's side's actually ached. Ed. Flanagan and Nccly Edwards gave their screaming fa re-let, "Off and On," with even hotter results than on former visits here, though they have never failed to nil any program position right worthily. Jack Kennedy and company presented their comedy skit, "A Business Proposal.'' which pleased, and deservedly brought them back for several bows at Its finish. Dunn and Dean, with Dunn entertaining strongly with Ills mouth Inipcrsonattons of animals, aatos, and finishing with the baty bit and Miss Dean doing a sorb song and neat Spanish dance,.looked much more eqaal la their work than when we previously caught them around Harlem, and Ufey wcro a clean cut hit at this show. Abe Sharks, tho He-brow comedian, and Ms company, offered a real lively comedy sketch, with a plot centered upon the prise fighting eon of a Jew, who finds that "flghtlnk Is some bexneas" when his boy wins tho cham- pionship; a few hundred feet film of a fight being used to help out during the run ot the tarn. Marks got a hunch of fun from his ehnracter, and toe audionce didn't have to force many laughs. The Three Arthurs (Mow Acta) opened tbe show with a neat trick bicycle turn. Irving Jones snd Honey Johnson, the colored comedians, sang, gagged and "fooled around" for nineteen minutes, with Jones showing his usual comic speed, and tbey were very well treated. William Lytell and his company of a foung man and woman made "A night at be Club" funny entertainment, but twenty minutes of continual talk makes it get draggy. The -Melody Monarchs and a Maid, com- posed of three cHjvor piano lads, a corking violinist and a singing couple, wore a small riot and a musical treat for the Elast Har- lemltes sll tbe way.
