THE NEW YORK CLIPPER was orlgloally a sportlog news- pajMr, and consisted of only a tvw pages. It was published in the fomi of a blanket sheet In conformity With tha daily papers of that time. Later on It discarded Its sporting features and devoted Its columns to amusement news. As time wore on the amusement field became larger and the number cf pages in the CLIPPER Increasisd until Its size became un- wieldy and Inconvenient to handle and read. Its publlsbers have decided that with the Usue dated May 16, 1916, the CLIPPER will be published In a more convenient form and shape, and the obange will doubtless be Joyfully welcomed by its many friends. In its new form the CLIPPER will be More convenient to handle I More convenient to read I More attractive in appearance I This change has been influenced by a desire on the part c f the reading public to have its reading matter in compacl and convenient form, and there Is a general tendency on the part of magazine publishers to approach moie nearly a uniform size for their publications—the larger magazines are being made smaller and the smaller ones are being made larger. The magazines were formerly about 7x10 inches, now some have changed (and others contemplate changing to 9x10 In. or 10x14 in.) i.Tbe new size of the CLIPPER will be 9x13 in.) While the CLIPPER will change in size and general ap- pearance, we wish to fissure our friends and patrons that there will be no change in its policy or management, nor In its business methods of treating everybody alike without favor* itism of any kind whatever. It will continue to present the news of tbe entire world of amusements In a concise, but com- prehensive manner for the busy reader, and continue to>vold scandals, personal controversies and contentions. In a word, It will continue to be the same «OLD RELIABLE" CUPPER, the only change being in its outward appearance. THE PUBLISHERS. JACK GLOGAU.
