SKIRA An important new French Art Review, which is to appear five times yearly. Its leading feature is to be the large number and high quality of illustrations to each issue, which will comprise 72 to 100 pages in quarto format, with about 1 20 illustrations, of which many will be f ullpage. In addition, the cover, which is to be in colours, will be designed for each issue by one of the leading artists of to-day. Three out of five of the issues in any year will form special numbers, and will be even more generously illustrated. No. 1 has just appeared. It is a Special Number and comprises 80 pages, with 125 illustrations and a cover specially designed by Picasso. Amongst the contributions may be mentioned : — An article by Andre Breton : " Picasso dans son element," illustrated with 60 photographs of recent sculpture by Picasso, hitherto unpublished. A set of hitherto unpublished drawings by Picasso, after Grunewald't " Crucifixion " in the Colmar Museum. "Une Anatomie" — a suite of 18 recent drawings by Picasso, also hitherto unpublished. These are printed on special paper. " Massacres " — a set of drawings by Andre Masson, also printed on special paper. " Le Miroir de Baudelaire," by Paul Eluard, with a portrait of Baudelaire, a drawing and an engraving by Henri Matisse. "Les sept peches capitauz" — 2 pages from the MS. of an unpublished ballet by Kurt WeilL Price of No. 1 (Special Number), 6/Subscription price for 1 year, post free, £1 5s.
