Following in his footsteps is the young baritone, Ernst Wolff, who has recorded many beloved compositions for Columbia in the Henschel manner of accompanying himself at the piano. — Wolff, a German by birth, is now in the United States where he continues to __— practice his delightful art. Wolff’s first musical experience was as a conductor—another curious resemblance to Henschei—but his fine voice was discovered by the public a few years ago when, during a performance of — Parsifal, he was obliged to substitute for an indisposed artist. The audience, so spelibound by his interpretation, changed his career by its ovation. Ernst Wolff’s particular talent is the singing of lieder which he does with consummate grace and warmth.
