EDISON PHONOGRAPH MONTHLY, OCTOBER, 1916 •**. »-**** WHEN Thomas A. Edison takes a vacation he enters into it with all of the enthusiasm and thoroughness that he puts into his daily work. Early in September he went into the Adirondack Mountains, in New York State, in search of recreation, accompanied by H. S. Firestone of the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company and John Burroughs the famous naturalist. The picture herewith was taken just before the trip commenced and it shows Mr. Edison, with a smile of anticipation on his face, standing with Mr. Firestone by the car they traveled in. The automobile truck that is shown, loaded to its capacity, contained the supplies that were carried by the party.
