234 EDISON RECORDS. JORN, KARL, Tenor, RECORDS by ; Karl Jorn is one of the world’s great tenors. He made his operatic debut in the role of Lionel in “Martha,” at Freiburg. Then in quick succession came appearances in Zurich and Hamburg. He was the leading tenor of the Royal Opera at Berlin from 1902 until he resigned in 1912. During this time he also appeared at Covent Garden, London, and the Metropolitan Opera House, New York. His career with the Metropolitan Opera Company, where he sang principal tenor roles, established him as one of the most popular tenors America has ever known. His recent nation wide concert tours have aroused the greatest admiration for his wonderfully appealing voice, his exceptional talent and his genial personality.
