Previous to that time she had. been heard occasionally in church singing in New York and Brooklyn. Miss Morrisey was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and received all her musical education in America. She sings with equal facility in Italian, French, English and German. For some years Miss Morrisey was the leading contralto of the St. Mark’s Methodist Episcopal Church, Brooklyn, and is now the soloist of the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, New York. She has sung with the important organizations, the Rubinstein Club and the Euterpe Club of New York, the Arion Society of Brooklyn, and the Brooklyn Apollo Club. Her tours with the Russian Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Festival Orchestra and in concert, recital and oratorio work have made her a well known artist to American audiences.
