Unfortunately this film contains a serious historical inaccuracy. It assumes that the Marseillaise, written in 1792, inspired the storming of the Bastille. The storming of the Bastille took place in 1789. It was the attack on the Palace of Tuileries in 1792 which followed the events portrayed in the beginning of the film. With this made clear to the pupils, it should be of some help in history classes, grades 7 through 12. "Recommended for classes in musical appreciation and historical backgrounds of music, grades 7 through college. Psychology classes in grades 10 through 12 would find it interesting as a study of the effect of music in rousing war emotions."
