FCA Gets New Constitution
Along with a new president, the Film Council of America has acquired a new constitution, ratified recently by the Board of Directors. Chief among the constitutional changes is a new method of election for board members. Future boards will be elected directly by the entire membership, rather than by organizational representatives.
According to FC4, the election procedure was changed to conform to the new general membership program adopted by the Board one year ago.
FCA directors continue, as in the past, to serve as individuals, and not as representatives of organizations. Nominations are made, however, to cover the following interest areas: commercial and TV film producers; educational film producers; equipment manufacturers; film distributors; film librarians; film societies; film sponsors; filmstrip and sound slidefilm producers; independent film users; local film councils; and national associations.
