TESMA Sets Convention In Chicago, Sept. 26
Chicago — The Theatre Equipment and Supply Manufacturers Association head¬ quarters announced that preliminary arrangements for the 1949 Trade Show and Convention of that association to be held at the Stevens Hotel in Chicago on September 26-27-28 are being made.
New members that have recently joined TESMA are: A. & M. Karagheusian, Inc., of New York City; Young’s Frame Co., of Independence, Mo.; Frankel Associates, Inc., of New York; Best Devices Co., Inc., of Cleveland.
Associate members; Wendt Advertising Agency, Toledo; George M. Petersen, Cleveland; Walter E. Heller & Co., Chi¬ cago; Minneapolis Securities Corp., Min¬ neapolis.
All indications seem to be that the Chicago show will top the 1948 show and will establish a new record in attendance and exhibits.

own parlor, and he is sure to feel rested after the show. Give a patron a lumpy seat which offers obstructed vision, and that customer will feel the effects of eye and muscle fatigue when he leaves the theatre.
There is no reason for poor seating in any theatre when, in most cases, reseating jobs that will provide the best in sight lines and comfort may be had at a mini¬ mum of cost. The enhancement of patron good-will that is brought about by proper seating will more than make up for the cash expended. It is to the theatreman’s advantage to provide for his patrons as if they were guests in his home. The result will show in the best possible place, boxoffice receipts.
Both owner and manager will, in the long run, find that a small investment toward enhancement of patron comfdrt will pay a substantial dividend in patron¬ age. The customer prefers a smart, com¬ fortable house, appreciates improved serv¬ ices and remembers the management that shows this consideration to his patrons.
