Duncah, West Point Amusement Company, West Point, Ga. Henry Krumn, southern district manager, SRO, returned after visiting New Orleans. ... Mrs. Billie Croft has been added to the Film Classics staff, replacing Marion Brafford, resigned. Sierra-RKO’ s “Joan Of Arc" will have a gala premiere at the Para¬ mount on Feb. 10.... Ben Jordan and Jimmy Campbell, Monogram salesmen, were in for a meeting with branch manager Jimmy Hobbs. Eddie Foster, Drive-In, Knoxville, Tenn. , was seen on Film Row. ...Off for Florida were Ralph McCoy, branch nanager, Film Classics, and southern district manager j. H. Lutzer. Johnny Bachman, UA branch manager, checked in at his office after a meeting with Fred Jack, southern district manager, in Jacksonville, Fla. ...Ike and Harry Katz, Kay Ex¬ changes, were back after visiting in Washington and New York City. ^William "Snake" Richardson, Astor pictures of Georgia, also returned to his office after a trip through the territory. ... Mrs. Betty Hollisman, secretary to William Richardson, Astor, is back on the job after visit¬ ing with her husband in Macon, Ga. Walter Titus, southern district manager, Republic, was looking after the local branch until a new manager BOB BOWERS APPOINTED BY MID-SOUTH ALLIED MEMPHIS Bob Bowers, for the past five years as salesman with MGM, was last week appointed mana¬ ger of the recently organized Allied Independent Theatre Owners Of The Mid-South, Inc. The announce¬ ment was made by Edward 0. Cull ins, temporary president of the new group. Cullins said Bowers would take over his new post on Feb. 7, and accompany him to Washington for the national convention of Allied on Feb. 14-15. Before coming to Memphis, Bowers, a native of Kansas, was manager of the Mayer Myers Paper Company, Paducah, Ky. Cullins reported a good attendance at the regional meeting in Little Rock, Ark. , for independent owners. Another regional meeting was held at Pontotoc, Miss. , on Feb. 3. The Memphis office of Allied is temporarily operating in the Chisca Hotel, but Cullins said an office would be located on Film Row in the near future. is appointed. ... The Stage, Inc. , opens on March 14 at the Atlanta Women’s Club Audi¬ torium with "The Voice Of The Turtle". ....A legit presentation of “Rope” is set for presentation on Feb. 16-17 at the Atlanta Women’s Club Auditor¬ ium by the Atlanta Civic Theatre. Griffin, formerly with the old Publix Theatres, and now with Bill Aiken in Macon, Ga. Harris Robinson, president, Dixie Drive-in Theatres, announced the transfer of Carl B. Washam, manager. Victory Drive-Ins, to the management of the South 29 Drive-In, Charlotte. This is Washam’ s home town. H. C. Herr, formerly assistant manager in Savan¬ nah, Ga. , has been promoted to the managership of the Dixie Drive-in, Savannah. Lauren Norvell, amusement editor. The Journal, announced his wedding to Lois Doizer, to take place on Feb. 19 ....Nat Hancock, Jefferson, Jeffer¬ son, Ga. was seen on Film Row.
