Frederica "Let’s Sing Again” was shown in special showing at the firehouse in order to determine whether the public was interested enough in pictures to purchase a sound machine for the local school. Hurlock Christmas turkeys were given away at the Hurlock. Preceding this the merchants sponsored a free show with free candy for all. Milford EDWARD C. EVANS captured first state prize for his 49-inch channel bass, also got his picture standing alongside the fish in the JournalEvery Evening for the second time this year. Milton Milton burned down December 22. Princess Anne Princess Anne gave a free show to 75 needy children of the community as a Christmas treat. Salisbury HELEN ULMAN, Ulman’s, New, has acquired the Delmar, Delmar, as of December 13. Seaford Manager W. W. LANGFORD, Palace, gave a Christmas charity matinee. HARRY (Philomena Abell) BACHMAN has returned home from hospital. It was a grand wedding, folks, in case you missed out. We speak, of course, of CURTIS HILDEBRAND, lovely ALICE SWANK, who were joined in wedlock December 27 at the Metropolitan Baptist Church. A reception followed the ceremony at home of the bride’s father. ELIZABETH DEMPSEY, Metro billing department, spent two weeks in Spartansburg, South Carolina, for her vacation. TOM CONNORS, Jr., Metro student, spent the Yuletide holidays with his parents in New York. RAY ERVIN, Charlotte salesman, Metro, sp:nt his Christmas vacation with his parents in Hyattsville, Maryland. He also attended the exchange’s party. SAM FLAX, SAM GALANTY were among those present to wish well brothers J. MEYER, LOUIS W. SCHINE at the testimonial dinner tendered these able showmen held recently in Albany, New York. Meanwhile, brother JAKE FLAX looked after business with a trip to the Virginia situations. H. J. SAVILLE has taken over Inskeep Hall from H. O. THRUSH, it is reported. Eastern division manager CARTER TATE BARRON, Loew’s, tossed his annual Christmas party December 22 for his entire division, with gentlemen, ladies of the press as “extra added attractions.” The Willard Hotel, Variety Club were the scenes of the gala affair. JOHN HOPKINS, JR., will keep open his Royla, but has closed his Opera House, Parksley, Virginia. IRA SICHELMAN, 20th Century-Fox booker, was out sick with a sore throat.
