HARRISBURG, for example, took all the leasers and combined them into an ad. Buffalo did something similar. This proved that the teasers had definite value, even aside from teasers. The two Philadelphia ads were made up by the StanleyWarner ad department and sold the horror idea to the hilt. In some spots, a little less concentration on the horror, with an eye toward a bit of lightness might help, but in all these ads, the horror angle was topmost. THE "NEW” IDEA also is commendable, especially in those spots where the recent double bill of " Frankenstein-Dracula ” was played. It might be necessary to offset some of the effect of that double bill so the folks know this successor is all NEW. GROSSES of these houses prove that the show has what it takes. Obviously, the ads were definitely of value. We hope these may be of interest to all.
