Th® MARCH of TIME a of the Nation . . . 1339 Hints on Newspaper Advertising No. 10 — -"The Great Man Votes” (RKO) It has already been indicated that this picture needs nil the help it can get. It has merit, but it needs selling. The above ads, varying from the pressbook in most cases, except as to illustration and photos, present some idea of what happened in different cities. The campaign of the Radio City Music Hall, for example, is dignified, but whether it will attract customers in other cities is a question. The two entrants from Washington carry more punch, but it might be wise to concentrate on the children and minimize Barrymore. If he is a draw, that is a different situation. READING, PENNSYLVANIA IRCHn/TIME entitled 'STATE OF THE NAT/0NJ939 WHAT F, D, R, Wants! \PP WHAT CONGRESS Wants! I WHAT BUSINESS Wants! WHAT YOU Want! WILL 1919 GIVE A JOB TO EVERYONE? ROCHESTER, NEW YORK The Park, apparently, was not too sure of the show’s draw, backing it up with plenty of attention to short selling. This was smart, even though it indicates that the amusement rates on the paper can’t be very high. All in all, this a varied lot, but it might be well for the attention to be centered on the child stars, as suggested before. The picture will draw critical raves, no doubt , but that is not enough to put the show over. RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL Showplace of the Nation « Rockefeller Center SE?
