RICO-Radio — NuAtlas. 10m. A variety show featuring several Russian entertainers, this makes only fair entertainment. The outstanding bit of work is a combination tap, Russian dance performed by the master of ceremonies. The photography is rather gray, making it tough on the eyes. FAIR. (94207). L. S. M. Color Moveity UNUSUAL OCCUPATIONS No. 4. Paramount 10m. Up to the good standard of the series, this shows how the Royalty Edition of the London Times is printed, how an old man saves pieces of string, how Lucian Littlefield experiments with makeup, how Buck Jones plays around with autos, how flowers are copied artificially. GOOD. (L8-4) . H. M. Novelty INSIDE THE WHITE HOUSE. Columbia— Washington Parade. 9m. Second of the series, with Dan Seymour narrating while the camera travels to every nook and corner of the President’s home. This is done in more finished fashion than the previous issue, but there isn’t enough action. GOOD. (9902). L. S. M. NEW ROADWAYS. Metro— Passing Parade. 10m. The second in the John Nesbitt Passing Parade series is up to the excellent standard of the first. Nesbit tells of the men who never get into the headlines, who invent new things, scientists who experiment with mice to help civilization be strong; men who remake faces of broken men to give them a new slant on life. EXCELLENT. (K-922). H. M. Color Sport POINTS ON POINTERS. Vitaphone— Color Parade. 10m. A study of the training of dogs for the hunt, this is also commendable for a color work. It shows the various steps in the rearing of pointers, the patience needed by the trainers. Final shots show the animals in action during the hunt. GOOD. (4606) . L. S. M. Sport DANGEROUS MOUNTAIN CLIMBING, Lenauer. 8m. Like the bear that went over the mountain to see what he could see, the climbers of the Tyrolean Alps depicted herein, apparently also saw the other side of the mountain, for this scenic reveals no more than the up, the down of crag scaling. Without narration, but with a musical score, this is, nevertheless, entertaining. GOOD. L. S. M. THE SPORTING IRISH. Paramount— Grantland Rice Sportlight. 10m. Ted Husing narrates, while forms of Irish sport are shown, hurling, jumping, etc. This is not up to the usual Rice manner, but it will serve as an acceptable sports filler, best, of course, in the nabes where the sons of old Erin abode. FAIR. (R8-9). J. Color Travel ANCIENT EGYPT. Metro— Fitzpatrick Travel Talks. 9m. To Egypt this time, the Nile, the tombs, the ancient land, with the usual Fitzpatrick sunset, a male vocalist. This is up to the usual good Fitzpatrick standard. GOOD. (T-8 56) . H. M.
