12 THE NATIONAL MIRROR DODGE CITY” HAS ITS DAY. Amid the fanfare of trumpets and pages of publicity Warners bowed in with the world premiere of their latest Technicolor super-epic last fortnight at Dodge City, Kansas. Highlight scenes are shown above, such as Howard Logan, Los Angeles newsboy who won the trip, with Olivia De Havilland, John Payne, Ann Shirley, Hoot Gibson, Mrs. Wayne Morris and Wayne; Lya Lys, Jane Wyman, Morris, Gloria Dickson, Miss Shirley, Payne; Jack Warner greeting star Errol Flynn; Morris acknowl edging the crowd’s roars; Flynn giving Larry Sisk, newspaperman, $500 for finding the former when he was lost a couple of weeks back; S. Charles Einfeld watching Humphrey Bogart applaud; the military; Miss De Havilland, Flynn and Ann Sheridan giving a cheer for old WB; and the stars en masse as they posed in front of the special train. The affair, which assumed the proportion of a national event, was considered an institutional achievement as regards good will for the industry with state and civic leaders. April 12, 19)9
