National Theatre Supply Company’s Baltimore branch played an important part in the special premiere showing in Washington’s Constitution Hall of "The Story of Alexander Graham Bell.” Brand new Type "C” Simplex Four-Star Sound was installed in the hall to replace the existing equipment Under the supervision of National Theatre Supply Company’s branch manager HAEFELE and a special crew of engineers from Altec Service Corporation, installation of the Simplex Sound was made in record time. Already in the projection room at Constitution Hall was other National Theatre Supply Company equipment including HALL AND CONNOLLY lamps and Super Simplex projectors. — Jacques Shellman. MATILDA BISHIELDS SMITH is manager of her father’s theatre, assisted by her sister, YOLANDE BISHIELDS. VIRGINIA Berkley LINWOOD FLOWERS, Rex, has just placed an order with the Richmond Theatre Supply for a new stage setting. Bluefield New Knisley rectifiers are being installed in the Lee by the Richmond Theatre Supply. Hampton Langley is trying radio advertising over WGH. Harrisonburg WALDO CHANDLER, Virginia, sent out letters supposedly from a nurse plugging “Four Girls in White.” They were distributed in envelopes with the imprint on the outside — "Love Secrets of a Nurse.” He also distributed autographed fan photos of DON AMECHE, cost of which was paid by the Quality Shop, which used half of the back of the photograph for an ad, Waldo used the rest of the back to list his week’s program. Neivport News GLADYS LYLE, Paramount organist, kid club director, put on a show with members of her club as a feature of the Rotary Club’s Easter party for children. HARL WOLEVER, Paramount manager, and LEONARD GORDON, Palace, likewise, were among local hosts named by Chamber of Commerce for entertainment program for visiting officers of the U. S. fleet. — W. T. Richmond ELMER BRIENT, Richmond Theatre Supply, has just acquired the distributing rights to the new portable, window units now being marketed by the United States Air Conditioning Company.
