Neighborhood Thea¬ tre, Inc., also had a nice tieup with the daily papers on “Apartment For Peggy” when it played Byrd and State. One of the big department stores tied up with “The Loves of Carmen” using a large display ad in The Times Dispatch. -S.J. West Virginia KE YSER Newton B. Carskadon, prominent thea¬ tre owner, returned from John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md., where he under¬ went a series of treatments, Dave Baker, who recently opened his new Drive-In, Burlington, W.Va., was re¬ porting good business in spite of the ad¬ verse weather. The installation is located near Patterson’s Creek, and heavy fog has been settling just after the second per¬ formance begins. VARIETY CLUB TENT 11 WASHINGTON DC The Sunday Star recently carried a story on the Glaucoma Clinic at the Episcopal Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital, giving credit to the Variety Club and its invaluable aid ....The tent held its annual Hallowe’en party on Oct, 30. ...On the sick list re¬ cently were Harry Coonin, Morgan Baer, and Gene Ford.
