Exhibitors on the lookout for good entertainment should jiook "Snap Judgment" and a few of the other recent Mutual omedy-dramas. They will prove of interest and of unquesionable box office value. "Snap Judgment" is fine. There is lumor, mystery, suspense and thrills; wonderful photograpln .nd settings, and some good dual role material. It is just he picture for a splendid evening's entertainment.
William Russell handles a dual role to good advantage. \ext in importance comes Harvey Clark, at whose antics one annot help laughing. Francelia Billington and Adda Gleason .ffer excellent support, as does Charles Newton, Perry Banks. Tlarence Burton, Ashton Dearholt, Ruth Everdale and "Bui!" dontana. The story and direction are by Edward Sloman.
The story: On the wedding night of Mara Manning and immie Page, Jimmie rescues Jed Baldwin, a cattleman, from . band of thugs, and arrives at the house late and finds that vlara will have nothing to do with him; that there will he !io wedding and that the guests have been sent home. He ccompanies Jed Baldwin to Lone Star, only to find himself nistaken for Arizona Pete. Phoebe Lind, sweetheart of Ariona Pete, believes Jimmie is Pete and makes love to him. >ut Jimmie does not understand. Phoebe helps him to escape he sheriff and his posse, which brings him to a cave where Vrizona Pete holds Mara for ransom. When the striking esemblance of the two men is noticed every one is dumbounded. Phoebe finds she has been helping the wrong man nd Mara finds that she has misjudged Jimmie, because she >elieyed the man who held up the stage on which she and ier father were going to Lone Star was Jimmie, and that he vas playing a trick on them. With knowledge comes for'iveness and a happy ending.
"FRANCE IN ARMS"
Pathe war film; five reels; published November 11
This picture, as the name indicates, is the story of France's ise to meet the invasion of her soil by the Huns. Every feaure of her military preparation is covered in the five reels >f clear-cut photography for which Pathe is to be congratuated. For this class of a picture it is an excellent piece of vork and should meet with success.
In minute detail the picture outlines the training of the ^oilu from the time he reports as a raw recruit until he becomes the finished soldier. A charge by the French forces bver the top of a trench, photographed at 6 a. m., is one of Ihe features which stands out.
Development of the airplane and artillery branches, from 9H to the present time, as well as views of munition plants, Ire also shown in the picture.
The picture opens and closes with a fine likeness of Gen. fohn J. (Black Jack) Pershing.
