New Fourplex in Hamilton’s Lime Ridge Mall
The Lime Ridge Mall Cinemas opened August 7, 1981 in the Lime Ridge Shopping Mall. The mall is one of the largest in Ontario with 189 retail stores and an office tower still under construction. It is situated atop Hamilton’s mountain, an area with a population of 125,000.
The Cinemas are located at the lower level of this two-level mall. Total seating capacity of the fourplex is 1,000, with 200 seats in the smallest and 364 in the largest cinema which has Dolby Stereo. An attractive feature of the entrance lobby and the foyer is the reflection from the surrounding mirrors on the walls which creates a feeling of spaciousness.
Frank Naphan is the manager of this beautiful new four-plex. Frank transferred from the recently opened Fiesta Mall Cinemas in Stoney Creek.
Twin Drive In Windsor...now Famous Four
Two new screens were added to the Twin Drive In, Windsor, Ontario necessitating a change of name to Famous Four Drive In as of June 19, 1981. The Drive In has a total car capacity of 1,483 and all four screens are equipped with radio sound.
Ralph Cole is the manager of the new Famous Four.

Supermall Cinemas opened Apri 10, 1981 in a bedutifet new cua located in a well-populated suburb of Sudbury. It is the only theatre outside of the downtown city core and the area is referred to as ‘““New Sudbury”’ by local residents.
The theatre has three auditoriums each with a seating capacity of 300, and Manager, Bob Davidson describes his theatre as a ‘“‘very beautiful gem of an operation’’.
