Accolades For FP
FP, Feature Presentation, a publication put out by the theatre
staffs in the greater Vancouver area, |
should be one of the first entries in the SHOWCANADA Showmanship Award. The magazine was launched in conjunction with the recent Excellence into the 90’s program. The tremendous effort by its editors, Ken Carter (Station Square), Rob Jennings (Eagle Ridge) and Paul Keelan (Dunbar), shows in the first couple of issues and everyone who worked on the publication is to be congratulated.
Famous News is indebted to both Feature Presentation and
Winnipeg’s Silver Screen for information about promotions which have run in those areas. We will use material from both these publications so that the rest of the country will be up-to-date.

Loew’s Montreal manager Essam Mokhtar has come up with a good idea for a staff motivation program. It is called AIMMS, which stands for Attitude, Initiative, Motivation, Maturity and Skill. It is a so far successful attempt at bridging the gap between employees and supervisors. Says Essam, "We give everybody the chance to show us that they too can do the job and then we reward them."
Among other promotions, Patrick Tamas of Montreal organized an I Love You To Death party at a club in Montreal where drinks were complimentary and Pizza Pizza supplied the food (pizza, of course). Co-sponsor CHOM radio lead clubgoers through an I Love You To Death trivia contest with T-shirts given away as prizes.
