Programs are available to emerging and experienced media artists and to media arts organizations. Programs for Organizations: Artist-Run-Centres: Media and Visual Arts Purpose: Provides annual grants to assist artistrun centres with expenses incurred in the creation, presentation and documentation of media and visual arts. Grants also assist with production, professional development, distribution and exhibition expenses. Eligibility: This program is open to Ontario based cooperatives of professional artists operating as not-for-profit organizations. Organizations must have been in operation for at least one year, have presented a full year of Programming, and pay professional fees to exhibiting artists. Deadline: March 1, 1998 Media Arts Organizations Special Projects Purpose: Provides project grants to assist notfor-profit media arts organizations and collectives with their special projects. Eligibility: This program is open to not-for-profit, Ontario-based media arts organizations creating projects which help expand artists’ opportunities to exhibit, distribute and promote their work; and/or provide opportunities for the creative and professional development of artists and audiences through publications, seminars, lectures series, special screening series, etc. Deadline: November 15, 1998 Programs for Individuals Artists’ Film and Video Purpose: This production program provides project grants to assist independent artists using film and video as a form of creative expression. Eligibility: This program is open to Ontariobased professional media artists wishing to realize a film or video project. Artists working with film and video installation may also apply. Deadline: April 15, 1998 First Projects: Film and Video Purpose: Provides project grants to first-time and emerging film and video artists undertaking their first project in either film or video. Artists working with film and video installation may also apply. Eligibility: This program is open to Ontariobased artists interested in producing their first film or video project. Applicants from other artistic disciplines wishing to incorporate film or video into their work may also apply.
